Information System Contingency Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning

This Departmental Regulation (DR) establishes the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) policy to guide agencies and staff offices in developing, implementing, and maintaining Information System Contingency Plans (ISCPs) and facility Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs). This contingency planning policy governs the activities designed to sustain or restore information system operations, possibly at alternate sites, in the event of disruptions. In this context, contingency planning helps ensure the availability of information systems and the services and business processes supported by information technology (IT).
