Delegation of Authority
Approve Selection of State
Cooperative Extension Service Directors and Administrators
1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to
delegate authority within the Department to approve selection of State
Cooperative Extension Service Directors and Administrators.
2. DELEGATIONS
The Under Secretary for Research,
Education, and Economics (REE) is hereby delegated the authority vested in the
Secretary to approve selection of State Cooperative Extension Service Directors
and Administrators. This authority is
further delegated to the Director, National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
3. EXISTING DELEGATIONS
The reservation to the Secretary of
the authority to approve selection of State directors of extension in 7 C.F.R.
2.21(b)(1)(v) is hereby revoked.
4. EFFECTIVE DATE AND TERMINATION
This delegation is effective
immediately and will remain in effect for one year from the effective date, or
until such earlier time as the Department’s published delegations of authority
have
been revised to incorporate the provisions of this memorandum.
